Hi and thanks for visiting my page or should I say the page Alex has kindly put together with me just sending him the text and photo (thanks mate).
So a little about me... I'm 38 years old with 3 children and a gorgeous girlfriend, I live in Somerset, Frome to be exact which is near the city of Bath for those that don't know where Frome is. I got into walking / wild camping in September 2010 when a friend and I started visiting Dartmoor and decided to camp out one night and really enjoyed it although it’s a steep learning curve knowing what to take with you and staying on the right track can sometimes prove a challenge.
I have been looking to push myself a bit and really wanted to do the coast to coast so as I had a fair few like minded followers on twitter I thought I would ask if anyone is up for joining me. Alex and Chris said they were going and were happy for me to join them even though we have never met in person so here we are all itching to get going.
So why Hounds for Heroes? Well I can't think of a better cause, being a dog owner myself I know how much a dog can bring to anyone’s life and the training these dogs get is fantastic, they really make a difference to people suffering from disabilities both in practical ways and will offer a lifetime of companionship, loyalty, security and friendship to their owner.
I'm sure you will agree this is an excellent cause so please support us if you can.

Lancashire born, Alex has been walking in the Lake District for a number of years. The Coast to Coast walk is something he's always wanted to do. Alex added "We know every penny we raise is going to a fantastic cause".
Chris Sumner
Also from Lancashire, Chris also loves walking in the Lakes and the outdoors in general. Chris has been thinking about the c2c for a couple of years now. The charity Hounds for Heroes, being a lover of man’s best friend along with being an ex member of the army it was a no brainer for me.
