Alex Atkinson...

Hi welcome to my section of the website. I'm a born and bread Lancashire lad, whom fell in love with the Lake District and the outdoors from a young age. All the family holidays was spent on a working farm near Windermere. For the past few years I've been walking the Wainwright fells, enjoying many a time on the fells.

I took an interest in wild camping after reading and viewing many videos and stories on the subject. Finally in April of 2011 I did my first wild camp in the Lake District, at Small Water near High Street. Since then I've never looked back, making some great friends along the way one of which I'm doing the walk with.

I met Chris Sumner at a outdoor social meet in the Peak District, since then I've been on a few wild camps with Chris on Skiddaw and a winter wild camp in the Whinlatter forest to name a few. Rob Mepham sent a message out on Twitter, asking if anyone else was walking the coast to coast in 2012, low and behold myself and Chris are, so Rob was duly added to the trip.

Personally I can't wait for April to come! A few wild camps and walks will be done before the event takes place to make sure I'm hill fit, as the walk will be tough. Please donate if you can, the money is going to a great cause. The Hounds for Heroes charity train puppies up to assist and help men and women of the UK armed forces and civilian emergency services.

Alex Atkinson

Lancashire born, Alex has been walking in the Lake District for a number of years. The Coast to Coast walk is something he's always wanted to do. Alex added "We know every penny we raise is going to a fantastic cause".

Chris Sumner

Also from Lancashire, Chris also loves walking in the Lakes and the outdoors in general. Chris has been thinking about the c2c for a couple of years now. The charity Hounds for Heroes, being a lover of man’s best friend along with being an ex member of the army it was a no brainer for me.

Rob Mepham

Hailing from Somerset, husband and farther of three Rob enjoys local walks around Dartmoor. Rob wanted to challenge himself in 2012 and the Coast to Coast walk fitted the bill perfectly.
